TRIPUR:
Tirupur is the seventh largest city in Tamil Nadu and is one of the fastest developing cities in the state. Popularly referred to as "Dollar City" or "Small Japan" or "Banian City", it excels in knitted ready-made garments.
Tirupur, in Tamil Nadu , accounts for 90 % of India’s cotton knitwear export, worth an estimated Rs 4,000 crores. But it is severely handicapped by poor infrastructure. Tirupur has a unique significant presence at the lower end of the international hosiery and knitwear market.
Its export boom began in the late 1980s , and the entire populace now depends on its viability as an export centre. But the exports from Tirupur are under threat due to the critical issues of environment pollution and child labour.
Even my village people depend on Tiruppur textile mills for their earnings. In that sense,Tiruppur is a heaven for all those poor people to lead a good social life. But,they are not much aware about the the environment they are working in , its effects on health...And,one more thing is its pollution.
Now,my town is slowly deteriorating due to lack of government policies about the sewage treatment. If it continues, there will no more exist my town for human settlement.so,think wisely before it goes out of our hands.

Dear KalaiSelvan, I agree that your city faces a lot of problems associated with industrialisation. However, be happy that every little awareness makes a difference.
